Porritt-Galler Rotes Are Solemnized Saturday A. M.
Marian Porritt and Corporal Robert J. Galler were married at eleven o’clock Saturday morning at St. Joseph Catholic church at Lake Orion.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Porritt of; Dutton Road and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Galler of Buell road are the parents of the bridegroom. The bodice of the bride’s ballerina length gown was of skinner satin designed with embroidery militarie and the skirt was nylon tulle. A lace cap out lined in seed pearls held her silk illusion veil. Her bouquet was Mamie Eisenhower carnations encircled by white carnations. For her duties as matron of honor Mrs. George Wiers, sister of the bride, wore an ice-blue princess style crystalette gown and an open-crowned headdress of blue daisies to match, the bouquet which fie carried Bridesmaids were Marguerite Galler and Adele Galler, sisters of the bridegroom. Marguerite’s gown and flowers were yellow and Adele’s were pale green fashioned identical to that of the matron of honor. Albert Galler, Jr. served his brother as best man. Seating the guests were Robert Thomas and George Wiers. The bride’s mother wore a powder blue dress with white accessories and the bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue dress with pink accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of pink and white lilies.Immediately following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at Club Rochester. An evening reception was give at the Oakland Township Hall at Goodison for about 200 friends and relatives. Mrs. Jack Brown assisted with serving the wedding cake and Mrs. Cecil Bennett, Mrs. Harold Luchtman and Mrs. Edward Tailman poured. When the couple left for a brief honeymoon in Northern Michigan the new Mrs. Galler was wearing a teal blue suit dress and a corsage of the Mamie Eisenhower carnations from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Rochester High School and is now employed as secretary of Rochester Board of Education. The bridegroom is a graduate of Lake Orion High School and is stationed in Alaska August first and Mrs. Galler will make her home with her parents until his discharge from the army.
